Kids and the Law

The relationship between Natural and modern-day law

Natural Law and modern-day laws are related and co-exist. This workshop also explains how they are different. Kids and the Law is geared toward a younger audience, approximately Kindergarten to Grade 6. Kids in the Law discusses the cultural background of our society's laws, such as the consequences of hurting another person or the environment. It also explains how the same actions are regarded in traditional Natural Law, based on concepts from different Aboriginal groups in Canada. The workshop also discusses different kinds of punishment. For example, how a violation of a traditional code may not result in jail, but a circle including victims and community members.
