F.A.S.D. & The Law

Helping those with FASD who are in conflict with the law

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is one of the most complicated problems facing the justice system. It is poorly understood, difficult to diagnose and burdened by social stigma. Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and the Justice System provides service providers with advice and knowledge. People suffering from FASD, and do not have proper supports or resources, are at a large disadvantage when dealing with the justice system. When a woman drinks alcohol during pregnancy the unborn child is at a risk of being born with FASD. People with FASD can have moderate to severe mental challenges and sufferers often can not achieve moral reasoning. This workshop offers information, guidance and advice.
