Demerit Fact Sheet
ONLINE RESOURCE - When you are convicted of certain driving offences, such as speeding or careless driving, not only will you receive a fine or penalty, but demerit points will be issued to your license. Demerit points are a penalty that you carry on your licence for two years, from the day you pay your fine. The point system assists with identifying and penalizing repeat offenders of traffic laws.
